HISTORY,FUTURE&VISION
from the latter half of 60's, and environmental related department (Dept. of environmental engineering, Dept. of environment) came into being in a lot of universities especially after the latter half of 80's. However, as the department focusing on an environment education(especially school environment education), this Dept. of Environmental Education was firstly established with other 2 universities (Kongju National University, Sunchon National University) for the first time in Korea in 1996. In wide viewpoints, a character of our department is to develop and settle environmental education in Korea, and more directly, to train environmental teachers who take professionally charge of environment subject as a separate elective subject by researching and developing contents and methodologies of environmental education with a frontier spirit. It is also another character of our department to contribute to development of environmental education and understanding and solving domestic society and international environmental problems.
Lastly, all professors and students of Dept. of Environmental Education in Korea National University of Education are constantly endeavoring to solve the environmental problem that is a new question of the times and to be talents serving for a society in the current and future environmental educational field.
