Institute of General Education for Teachers

The Institute of General Education for Teachers operates a residential student education course to foster teachers with the appropriate viewpoints toward their country and mindsets as instructors to allow them to lead the future of education. The center also runs a wide range of educational programs, including a tailored special learning course (One-Person, One-Unit CheongRam Program), a safety program (Safe Teacher), CheongRam Culture Activities, and opportunities to listen to senior teachers’ stories on their experiences out on the education field. As a residential college, the center promotes refinement, educational leadership, and a spirit of volunteering through community life. The dormitories serve as a foundation for education, developing teachers who provide holistic education.

Institute for Educational Information

The Educational Information Institute offers educational content, manages school internet servers and networks, and supports teaching, research, and student activities through computers and e-learning. The computer labs are always available for these purposes. Additionally, the institute provides the university’s electronic infrastructure for quick access to remote education, research information, scholarly resources, and educational policy details.

Museum of Education

Founded in 1987 and reestablished as the Educational Museum in 2010, the museum spans 7,500 square meters across six exhibition halls. It houses a collection of approximately 30,000 items, including educational and historical materials. The Educational Museum supports educational research through the collection, preservation, and display of these materials, as well as studying the history of the school. It is actively developing and offering programs related to educational culture and Korean traditional culture. The museum aims to position KNUE as a leading center of Korean education in the 21st century by supporting three key educational objectives: training future teachers, providing in-service teacher development, and advancing educational research. Additionally, the Educational Museum aspires to be a landmark in the history of Korean education, a hub for educational research, and a space for interactive experiences and participation.

Institute for Oriental Stork Ecology

Established in 1996, the Eco-Research Institute of the Oriental Stork was created to restore the oriental stork, last seen in Korea in 1994. The institute focuses on the naturalization of the oriental stork and studies the effects of migration between Korea and its natural habitats in Russia, China, and Japan. In 1996, the institute received four oriental storks from Germany and Russia. Through successful breeding efforts, the institute now has 97 oriental storks. In September 2015, it achieved a historic milestone by releasing eight oriental storks at Ye-san Stork Park; seven of these birds continue to thrive in the wild today. The institute also offers various educational programs and promotional activities to enhance environmental awareness. Visitors can observe and feed the oriental storks at the Cheongram Oriental Stork Park located within the university.
